My work is based upon observing the passage of people through a specific point in space and time. People living in cities cross roads every day of their life yet this is never given any thought, and rarely do they cross the road at a pedestrian or zebra crossing. I decided to capture these people, keeping their location in space fixed yet changing their location in time, to present a multi-layered montage of peoples different intersections of the road during a two-hour period.
This method gathers an individual un-noticed daily event from many individual peoples lives, merges it with other peoples, and turns it on its head into an unreal event that would never occur at one single point in time. Through this method patterns un-noticed during each individual second become noticeable over a longer period.
