Rebecca Derrick 21, Female beckyderrick@googlemail.com www.rebeccaderrick.com My work is a response to the intriguing and utilitarian use of photography in online auctions sites such as eBay. I was interested in how the scale of objects being offered for sale is measured against other objects, which, along with the disregard for background or colour correction, generates such strange and fascinating images. I have attempted to adhere to this amateur aesthetic to produce my own series, incorporating objects that ostensibly have no significance, yet are given significance through the act of photographing them and presenting them.
