'Broken Lines': by means of abstraction I aim to offer a challenge to traditional ideas about linear perspective. The work that I have produced abstracts structural forms in the everyday urban landscape, paying attention to pattern, repetition and order.

In My approach I try to challenge the claim that photography represents the world as we see it and instead create an image that is a thing in itself. I looked for patterns across a number of planes and became interested in depictions of the landscape which do not make logical sense or that are removed from the context of the scene in such a way as to confuse the viewer.

My photographs use geometric abstraction and have little or no context, making the objects and distance difficult to comprehend as existent as 3-dimentional spaces. Visual illusions and visual perception have also been a key element of me working method and the images that I have created represent a reality which 'as is' cannot exist. When viewed as a simple 2D flat image, my photography represents an impossible object.
