James Collins Male beef20@hotmail.co.uk In this series 'The Bristol Riots' I have recreated the 1980 St Pauls' riots using miniature figurines. I bought the miniature models in various model train shops in and around Bristol. The figurines stand at about 2cm tall with the background objects standing at about 10cm. By producing the images in a storyboard I have been able to use the changes in light throughout the day to enhance the changes in mood in each photo as the riot progressed. I found photographing miniature models in this way gave me full control over what it was I was creating; by re-enacting an event I was able to create things that may not have been captured on camera at the time it occurred.
