Alice Kenny Female alzandince@hotmail.com 'Corridors' explores human interaction with interior urban architecture, by concentrating on the various ways people have decided to decorate their corridor spaces. The series of photographs highlights the subtle changes between corridor decorations on various floors in the same flat block. The layout of the series allows the viewer to make a direct comparison between each floor and have an indication as to the type of people that live in the flats and their individual tastes. The 'New Topographics' movement that emerged in the 1960s has heavily influenced the work. Photographers such as the Bechers, Lewis Baltz, Robert Adams and Stephen Shore photographed man's imprint on the landscape and the effect this was having on society at the time.
